    Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets present "Animalia”.  Hobey Ford is an internationally award-winning performer, a Kennedy Center Partner in Education teaching artist and a well recognized master puppeteer.

  • Monday September 26, 2011 and Tuesday September 27, 2011 - Shadow Puppet Workshops

    Hobey Ford will teach our third graders how to make shadow puppets in 60 minute workshops.

 

  • Thursday November 10, 2011 - 8:00am Grades 3rd - 5th, 9:00am Grades K – 2nd - Al Simmons

    The wacky and hilarious Al Simmons presents "Sounds Crazy: The Science of Music".

  • Tuesday January 10, 2012 - 8am Grades K - 1st; 9:15am 2nd-4th grade - Roger Day

    With grant from United Arts Council of Raleigh, the DDE PTA is able to bring Davis Drive Elementary’s all time favorite Roger Day back with a K-1 performance of his old favorite songs and a selection of his new songs, and a 2nd-4th grade performance of his brand new show "Marsh Madness".  The 4th graders will continue the tradition of having Roger Day teaching them song writing workshops.  The song writing workshops are also co-sponsored by United Arts Council of Raleigh.  2010-2011 4th grade songs can be downloaded below.

  • Wednesday February 1, 2012 – 8am Grades K – 2nd, 9am Grades 3rd - 5th - Tom & Jef

    Tom Pierce and Jef Lambdin will present Tom & Jef: New Mime Theater.  om and Jef, incorporating mime, masks, and student participation, will enlight the students and teach them about mime, the art of communicating with our bodies, and the valuable life lessons.  They may have a surprise in store for you!



  • April 2012 - K-2nd - Green Hope High School Drama Program

    Under Ms. Ingrid Wright, once again, will bring their wonderful drama students to perform for our K-2nd graders. 

 

  • Thursday May 24, 2012- 8:00am Grades 3rd - 5th, 9:15am Grades K – 2nd - Jonathan Daniel

    A Storyteller from Zimbabwe, Jonathan Daniel will inspire and captivate the students with his life story and the amazing little wire-art creatures and models.

     

  • Thursday May 24, 2012 - Wednesday May 30, 2012 - Wire Art Workshops

    Jonathan Daniel will engage the 5th graders in Wire Art Workshops by teaching them how to create a wire art project from start to finish.  This will be a great experience for them and will make their last days in elementary school even more memorable.
