The Family Fun Night Fundraiser Needs You

It's Time for the PTA Basket Drive!

Every year, the parents of DDE donate small brand-new items to be put together into baskets that are raffled off during Family Fun Night and every year, the baskets are the biggest hit of the evening! Parents are given a broad theme, and with small contributions from a large group of parents, the PTA puts together themed baskets. The PTA will build some old favorites, such as a Lego themed basket, a UNC themed basket, a board game basket and the list goes on!

Each grade is given a broad theme below.  March 1 through March 10 the PTA will be collecting donations in the front lobby during morning carpool.  Or, your child can bring in your donation and give it to their teacher (who will get it to us).  

Do You Own or Frequent A Business?

Sometimes,  home  based  businesses in  our community (Avon, Tupperware,  Mary  Kay,  Pampered  Chef,  etc.) would like the opportunity to create a basket of their products, with business cards or fliers that folks can take home with them - that would be  great! Additionally, we are looking for services or items donated by businesses for our silent auction. If you own a business, please consider donating services for our auction!  Donations are tax deductible. Please join us in this team effort that involves the entire DDE community, and we hope you will join us April 23rd at Family Fun Night when your family can buy raffle tickets to win a chance to take home your favorite basket.

Here are the 2010 Themes
*If you prefer to buy something that is not the theme of your grade, that’s perfectly alright!

Kindergarten:         beach accessories, beach toys, books and puzzles,

1st Grade:      lego type toys, Barbie type toys, polly pockets, matchbox cars and action figures

2nd Grade:      art supplies (paints, brushes, markers, crayons, pencils, drawing paper, clay, play-dough)

3rd Grade:          crafts, beading and jewelry making supplies, scrapbooking, model kits

4th Grade:          Carolina Hurricanes, Duke, NC State, UNC, ECU Pirates, Carolina Panthers

5th Grade:      board games, sports equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, tennis)
