Will you volunteer your time to tutor a child in need?

Davis Drive Elementary has a long standing tradition of providing volunteer tutoring to its
children who need assistance. The tutoring program is one of the most rewarding volunteer
opportunities where you can make a difference that is not measured in test scores alone.
 
● Our program features weekly 30-minute sessions where volunteer tutors provide one-on-
one instruction to students.
 
● Classroom teachers will provide tutor assignments for instruction in reading, writing and/
or math as well as teacher support.
 
● An optional training session will be held in the cafeteria on Wednesday, September 28th from
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
 
● All tutoring is provided during our school day; 7:45 am to 2:25 pm Monday - Friday. A
variety of session times are available to assist volunteers in scheduling around other
commitments.
 
● The program will begin matching volunteers with students in October and the program
ends around mid-May.
